The first time it appeared, was in 2.03 (love machine) when Audrey 2 goes there after finding the coordinates that Agent Howard left for them. She seemed disturbed with what she found there ("what the hell...") and then came back with all her memories gone.
In magic hour 2, Vince said only Audrey ever goes there. I'm not sure what he meant, because obviously Audrey 2 also went and if he meant 'only goes there without being erased' is also a lie because her memories are constantly being erased (?). At the end, Vince saw the barn on the top of that island in front of the grey gull and then it seemed to disappear (or Audrey couldn't see).
Also, when Audrey had that dream, she saw the barn and it opened for her, it welcomed her. If I didn't know about the the hunter, my guess would be that whatever is inside, takes Audrey and makes her disappear for another cycle.
The barn seems obviously important, but why? Do you think it is threat for Audrey?

I like to think the Barn is like Dr Who's Tardis, but of course it's different. I think it is how Audrey arrives in Haven and how she goes away.
I think it erases her memories to let her act not being influenced by her past actions. I'd like to think that the circle can be broken and that for this they have to find James.
Maybe if James is really Nathan's son and he went back in the past, the circle is going to be broken.

Maybe Audrey isn't ready to see? I think Vince and Dave are also some sort of protectors maybe so they're the only ones that can see until Audrey's ready to go in. Or maybe it just disappeared when Audrey looked.

yeah I checked on my ipod and they worked fine there, but not on my computer. The barn's definitely there. I'm really excited! Specially because theres no way Nathan will let Audrey get in unless he goes with her
