I know, I'd make the joke I'd look up to them if I ever met them, only it wouldn't be a joke. OMG Erics hair at the NYCC Panel.... I'm sorry it was great. I just wished there would have been a way to download it all. =/

I was a little sad that his one liners were darker than usual, if that makes sense. I enjoy how he tends to inject a little humor into an otherwise heavy situation and unfortunately that got pushed aside for the sake of plot in 3x04. Not that I'm complaining... I just hope it doesn't continue to stay so very heavy.

I just hope it doesn't continue to stay so very heavy. I think it will be even more heavy, mostly because he thinks he is winning a battle he lost 2 seasons ago. I miss him being the comical relief too, I loved when he mentioned in 3x3 that he was feeling some awkward cop tension.

Thinking about him after Real Estate.
He wanted to shoot Jordan....so how does it work? He chose people to kill depending on which trouble they have?
I get he doesn't trust or like her because she is in the Guard but that line (you are right, I should have shot her or something like that) hit me and in a not nice way.
Anyway I loved how protective and worried about Nathan he was!

Guys, I'm starting to get a little worried about Duke surviving this season. Little things are starting to set off warning bells in my fannish brain, and I keep coming back to the idea that a tattooed man is supposed to kill him.
Does anybody else have thoughts about Duke's chances of surviving this round of the Troubles? Nathan's already expressed a willingness to kill him if necessary (though I don't know if I believe him). We know that Lucy killed Simon and Sarah killed Duke's grandfather. It seems that the Crocker men are not destined to live to old age.
Which kind of made me think about how Duke has already aged to the point of death once—possibly another bit of foreshadowing.
Mostly, I have to admit that I'm worried because the way Duke has been portrayed this season, he's practically a saint. He's been an unbelievably good friend to Audrey and Nathan, he's accepted Audrey's rejection with all the good grace anyone could, and he even saves (kittens) drunks who are yelling at him and who charge him with assault. We haven't seen him do anything selfish in so long, I almost feel like we're being set up for him to make a heroic sacrifice.
Someone please tell me I'm being paranoid?

You are making me paranoid too.
I have just read a review where a gal said that Duke might be the CK kid father and now this.
No no no. Duke can't be the CK father and he won't die.

No no no. Duke can't be the CK father and he won't die. I hope I'm wrong. Did you see this interview with Eric Balfour? www.visionariosmagazine.com/Visionarios_Magazine/Visionarios_Balfour.htmlIn it, when talking about Haven, he's quoted as saying, "I loved playing a modern day pirate! So much fun." Past tense. Of course, the interviewer is probably ESL, but still. Nervewracking! I hope that's a typo/misquote/what have you. As for Duke being the CK's father, I guess to me, Sarah, Lucy, and Audrey are all different people, because I believe our memories make us who we are. Sarah doesn't have history with Nathan. I care about Nathan and Audrey, not Nathan and Sarah. *shrug* I never did like "destined to be together" love-through-time type stories anyway. So, I would have no problem with Duke/Sarah. In fact, I would rather that than Nathan/Sarah. I want Nathan to be with Audrey, and barring that, he has an understanding with Jordan—although, I suppose it's possible that he and Jordan will break up between 3.08 and 3.09. Given the way Nathan was looking at Audrey at the end of 3.08, I wouldn't be surprised. That would help my feelings about Nathan/Sarah a bit. Still, I would be even more sad for Audrey.

Highly unlikely he's going to die.
I think people are holding on to the fact Audrey/Sarah/Lucy are different people way too much. I don't think Nathan would sleep with a person he just met when he had such a hard time doing it with Jess and haven't done it with Jordan. Something must happen for Nathan to get intimate with her, and I'm betting Sarah's going to end up being Audrey.
Duke won't be sleeping with anybody. The writers have basically shut that down already.

To me, they are not the same person. But like I said, the whole star-crossed lovers, destined to be together in different times thing doesn't really work as a trope for me. I'm definitely a nurture over nature kind of person. I hope you're right about Duke! ETA: And I also hope that if you're right, and Nathan/Sarah happens, that we find out Nathan broke it off with Jordan after last week.

I don't know If Nathan is going to sleep with her, but I am sure this episode will be a turning point for pretty much everyone.
