Let's go talk about their bromance and all the theories about it. I'll happily talk about Duke and Nathan all day. I'm not sure if I have theories, but I do have questions. This season has only given me more, as Nathan's mistrust and anger at Duke has escalated to the point where Nathan wants to be on the "short list" of people who might kill Duke. Meanwhile, Duke has been mostly standing there and taking it, and he obviously still cares deeply about Nathan. His reaction to Nathan's death, and his relief when he realized Moira's trouble had been triggered, and Nathan could still be saved—those aren't the feelings of someone who doesn't care. I can only guess that Duke believes he deserves Nathan's mistrust, and that everything he's done to prove where his loyalties lie is still not enough. Whatever happened between them in the past, it must have been intense. The level of anger Nathan has shown toward Duke is more than that you'd show toward someone who bullied you as a kid. His own Trouble was triggered because he thought Duke was using him, and he was so hurt by that he lost control of his temper and attacked Duke. I can't believe Duke would still care so much about Nathan if that animosity were all that they've ever had between them. I really hope that we get some kind of real interaction between them in 3.09. There's been so little all season, and Nathan's been so angry and closed off. I hope he has some idea about the fact that Duke still deeply cares whether Nathan lives or dies. I hope Sarah isn't one more thing to come between them. They're running out of time, and need to work together to help Audrey.

I think Nathan is really conflicted about Duke. He didn't hesitate to entrusth everyone to him in Real Estate, because he knew Duke would have taken care of them. But yes he doesn't trust him yet about whch side Duke is standing for. Also I think jealousy is playing a big role in Nathan's attitude towards Duke.

It's always been obvious that Nathan wants to trust Duke. Otherwise, why would he feel so angry and betrayed when he perceives that Duke's let him down? The battle of the heart isn't easily won! I don't know that Sarah would come between them. I hope not. (It ties into my fears about Duke making a sacrifice, because I wonder whether part of the reason Nathan has been so angry with Duke this season is to heighten the angst when he's proved wrong and realizes Duke deserved his trust.) Anyway! Now I really am getting paranoid. All of this is pure speculation, and I've certainly been wrong about many things.

If he didn't care, he wouldn't be so hurt. It break me how much Nathan wants to believe that Duke is worth his trust and friendship and how Duke's personal and family history comes between them.
They are not going to kill Duke. There is S4, remember? Plus we have already had a major character death. I can't take it anymore.
Just a SPN related question: Are you a Sam girl?

I think Nathan has a bit of that Dean Winchester thing from losing his mom at a young age (since we're talking SPN!) where everyone he loves dies or disappears on him. So he has a really hard time trusting anyone, and when he does, and they break that trust, it's scorched earth time. Hahaha. Um, yes. As Sam girl as they come, while still loving Dean a whole lot, too.

This is why I love Nathan so much. Dean is (with Damon from TVD and Nathan) my possibly all time favorite character. I see this and also the fact that Nathan had an abusive father according what the Chief told Audrey about Max Hansen. I think this is also one of the reasons behind Nathans attitude to be so reserved and close. I had the feeling you were

Yeah, that's why I'm not watching Supernatural any more.

Disappointed Sam girl? I guess we should continue via pm or lj LOL! Nah, we probably shouldn't. Let's go back instead to talking about Duke and Nathan. Do you think they even talked to each other at Nathan's party? It's kind of killing me that we didn't get any kind of scene between them at the end of that episode.

At the end of the day Duke was the one who saved Nathan, so yeah I would have liked to see some interaction between the two. I hope they had a little chat or that we will have it in the next episode eventually.

They'll get back to being at least friendly like they were in season 2, just you wait!
