After watching the NYCC interview with Lucas, Adam, Eric and Emily I found myself wondering where I want the show to go.
I want it to give us answers and I guess we need another season to have them fully answered. I also want the characters to come clean to each other. I want them to address all their issues.
As for the shipping part, do you think there is any chance that the show is going to sink Nathan/Audrey as a couple and push Audrey towards Duke?
I love Duke, but I haven't never seen him as a love interest for Audrey. What I love about them is the friendship they share and since I truly believe in frienship between women and men, I would be very disappointed if they are going to tunr it into a love affair.
Plus, it wouldn't make sense story wise, because she pushed Nathan away to protect him, so why dragging Duke into some kind of affair? Wouldn't he be in danger too?
I can see them getting closer, but really sharing a love interest.
Same goes with Nathan and Jordan. I do think Nathan will question his feelings and the reasons behind his attraction for Audrey, but I don't see shutting her out for too long.
Any thoughts?

I was all nooooooooo wtf don't go there Audrey after watching last week's ep but now *shrugs* Uh-oh my Naudrey ship is getting hazy... lost in the fog Anyway I don't have answers or theories. I usually just like to enjoy my shows without thinking. Hopefully this show will have a long run and many more seasons to go and I liked Adam's reasoning and comparing Naudrey to Rachel and Ross on Friends.. "the will they won't they dynamic" I want them to get together BUT not now because if the show is still running you know something is bound to come up and cause a rift in their relationship. Bottom line- I'll prefer Naudrey to be end game then see them together now and then *insert dramatic event* to split them up like Audrey leaving for instance. So if she's going to have anything with Duke... better now than later IMO. I just want Nathan to be happy. My TWO reasons for NOT wanting Duke with Audrey: 1. It would hurt Nathan when he's prepared to go to any lengths for her 2. Unless Duke turns out to be a nutjob REV 2.0 I want NUKE to kiss and make up. Which will NEVER happen if Duke is making moves on Audrey. So ends my scrambled Ineedcoffeenow thoughts. After I watch the next ep I might change my mind. Yes I'm that fickle. Will I ship Daudrey? Du-Au? LAWLS.. even their ship names don't work!

I enjoy the journey more than the end so I want to see the angst and them being torn apart. OTOH, I want them to come clean and be honest, even realizing that they can't be together right now. This is what I want too. LOOOOOOL! I want Nathan and Duke to be BBF too so yes! *grins* I won't because, as I said, what I love the most between them is their friendship and a love affair between them would ruin everything.

I think the reason i am ok with jordan/nathan other than jordan being a gorgeous bamf is that she is there for what? 3 or 4 episode arc. If they hook up duke w/ audrey it will change the dynamic of the show and REALLY isolate Nathan. Sah sad lol.

I actually would love a little Duke/Audrey on the show, but that's because I have faith that neither of them could replace Nathan in one another's hearts. I think the three of them are the key to ending the Troubles, and that all three of them belong together. I've never had an OT3 I felt so strongly about.
I also don't think that Duke and Audrey will really go there on the show, because I can't believe Audrey would do that, knowing how badly it would hurt Nathan. They might have feelings, but I don't believe Audrey would act on them. (I don't actually believe Duke would act on them either, for the same reason—he couldn't even deal with the thought of keeping Audrey's disappearance secret from Nathan.)
In my perfect world, Duke and Audrey would admit that they care about each other as more than friends, but wouldn't let it go further than that because of Nathan. And in an even more perfect world, all three of them would end up together!

He wants to be close to Audrey and wants to show her that he is worthy. I don't think he is caring too much about Nathan's feelings right now. Maybe it is some sort of revenge after the naudrey hug in the premiere. I'm a little bit disgusted about how they are throwing Duke to Audrey in those two last episodes, and there's going to be more, apparently. I don't feel this discomfort towards Jordan and Nathan because I know they are not going to really disturb the system of the show. If something happens between Duke and Audrey, stuff is going to be crazy and they will never be same anymore. I take Jordan for Chris. He was there and now he is not anymore, that easy. I hope they won't go there with Audrey and Duke...

He wants to be close to Audrey and wants to show her that he is worthy. I don't think he is caring too much about Nathan's feelings right now. Except for how he said he couldn't live in the same town with Nathan if Audrey didn't tell him the truth. He could have kept his mouth shut and let that secret drive Nathan and Audrey apart, but instead he urged Audrey to tell Nathan the truth because he knew things would be worse for all of them if she didn't. I think he still cares about both of them. I understand your nervousness, but I have such faith in the show's writers and the character of Audrey. If she were to act on any feelings with Duke, I feel confident it would be in a way that was consistent with her character—and I can't believe she would hurt Nathan deliberately. I can believe Duke might hurt Nathan if he were angry, and he has reason to be angry with Nathan right now—but yet he has not been shown as angry at Nathan in the least. He was angry with Nathan in S2 after Evi died. He's not acting that way now. Even though Nathan has been very hard on him lately, Duke seems to understand and also seems to be trying to prove to Nathan that he isn't the monster Nathan thinks he is. When he saved Daphne, he looked right at Nathan, not Audrey. So I think he he still cares a great deal about what both Nathan and Audrey think of him. JMO. I can't say for sure that Duke/Audrey won't happen, but I feel very strongly that if it does, it will make sense and it won't drive Nathan away permanently. I just can't believe that of Audrey.

Prettybutt I don't think they are going down this route because the show is based on the relationships between these three characters, so I see the show keeping them pretty balanced. killabeez I agree, even if I think Duke has still to realize how much he cares about Nathan and viceversa. I think they take each other for granted and that's why often they are rude to each other. It's like they don't think they could end up dead and so they are not going to deal with their issues. Honestly I do think there's affection and friendship between them. I see Duke as in love with her, but I don't see Audrey to reciprocate this feeling. If this had to change, I expect Audre to push him away as she has done with Nathan because if she thinks that every man she has ever loved is going to die because of her, what would be the point in risking Duke? dordoris He does and he doesn't. He does when he tells Audrey to be honest with Nathan about the meteor storm and he isn't when he points out that Audrey needs and trust him. It's typical manly attitude I think. This perfectly describes my fears right now. killabeez My point is not if she falls for Duke, which for me doesn't work, because she can't drop her feelings for Nathan so easily, but how she would deal with it. I am confident in the writers too, I just don't want them to screw up with the awesomeness that this show is I think both of them have reasons to be angry at each other. He really does. So I guess we just have to wait and see and hoping for the best!

I think this belongs in this thread. Omnia vincit amor—Love conquers all.
The silver Crocker box has this motto under the lid. When Audrey's alarm first goes off in the pilot, the song playing is "Love Will Keep Us Together." The same song is playing when she drives into Haven. I feel as though the show is telling us that everything depends on the love between these three characters. I guess that's part of why I have faith that any Duke/Audrey will ultimately lead to a good place!

This is pretty clear for me. In a recent interview Bryant, Rose and Balfour confirmed that the connection and the relationship between the three of them is the core and the key of this show.
They might fight like cats and dogs but at the very end they will be united.
(still I want Audrey and Nathan to be endgame..because building up two seasons of it and then sinking everything would not make sense).

I have no problem with the love the should feel (?) for each other, I just don't want Duke in Audrey's bed. The place belongs to Nathan LOL

I don't have any idea whether or not the show will or won't bring Audrey and Duke together for real, but I think it is unquestionable that we are supposed to pick up on sexual tension between the 2 characters Did anyone else read that pilot script that was floating around the internet, where she fell on him naked and they both felt awkward/turned on by it? This being in the creators original pilot makes me think this is not just actor chemistry but a real plot line. This sucks for a ton of reasons for me as a fan, but mostly because it would break Nathan's heart. Even if nothing comes of it or if something comes and goes, already the notion that this vibe exists between Duke and Audrey is a deal breaker for me for Nathan and Audrey. It definitely isn't Audrey's fault- you can't help who you're attracted to for the most part- but she has never handled the obvious attraction the 2 guys have felt for her very well in my opinion (yes I know she's socially awkward etc, etc... but there is a point where I think it becomes a little cruel to never address the issue with either of them). Anyhow, what I'm getting at here is that I am way more supportive of a Nathan/Jordan pairing than a Audrey/Duke one because Nathan's never done anything but love and adore Audrey until she told him to stop. I want the poor dude to end up with a woman who is going to adore him properly and I don't know if that will ever be Audrey. Sorry for the long crazy post that illustrates how obsessed I have become with the fictional chief of police. But this is a safe place for this kind of crazy, right?
